The Andalucia region:

Summer is the most popular time on the Coast, with most people coming to Spain for the guaranteed sunshine, the beaches are busy and the night life goes on till the early hours, there are many fantastic restaurants to suit all tastes, the seafood here is a must! For the ladies the shopping will not be a disappointment with all the leading brands available and the shops are open until late! The coast becomes the golfers paradise ‘Costa del Golf’ with over 30 Golf courses within a short drive of the villa.

Other – Exploring the inland villages is a great day out, a drive through the ‘White villages’ is a memorable trip. It’s hard to believe you are only just over 2hrs drive from the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada (Granada). The historic town of Ronda is about an hour’s drive and the British enclave of Gibraltar under two hours drive.

For the more adventurous, a day trip to Tangiers,in Morocco is only a 45 minute ferry ride from the coastal town of Tarifa, a great way out to experience a totally different culture.


For an insight into the local culture you should try one of the ‘Ferias’. They are a lot of fun and an insight into Andalucia culture, each village or town will hold their own during the year, so if you are lucky you should be able to experience one during your stay.

The biggest fiesta on the coast is the Malaga Feria held at the beginning of August the local Fuengirola Feria is mid Oct. The local markets are a fantastic place to pick up those holiday gifts, the biggest market on the coast is every Tuesday in Fuengirola, with some fantastic bargains, leather goods being a good buy!!

Close to the Main Coast Road The Beach House is easily accessed, and only a 25 minute drive from Malaga airport.

The villa is situated on a private Gated Urbanisation, by the Beach only a short walk from Shops and Restaurants, in the resort of Riviera Del Sol, with its many great restaurants, bars, shops, banks and supermarkets. There are even more amenities to be found in Calahonda and Dona Lola, both within easy walking distance.

Riviera del Sol has its own beaches which are usually calm and not too crowded and stretch right along the coast. The new Boardwalk promenade will bring you to La Cala de Mijas in around 40 minutes comfortable stroll. The popular venue of Max Beach, offers beachside dining and occasional live entertainment, and El Oceano Beach Hotel and Spa on the beach in front of Miraflores, has a great restaurant for special occasions.

The area has many sports clubs, pool resorts, bowling greens and an 18 hole golf course with golf club, restaurant and driving range. If you prefer not to hire a car, the bus stop is just a few minutes walk and there is a regular service every 30 minutes to Marbella, La Cala, Fuengirola or Mijas water park.


Nearest beaches are 5 mins drive. 20 minute walk, There are many, clean, sandy beaches on the Costa del Sol, all within easy reach and safe for children. All have beach bars and restaurants where children are welcome and can play in safety, many have been awarded blue Flag and have typical local restaurants. Beautiful beaches that welcome families, There are two local naturist beaches. We are happy to provide some recommendations.


Numerous GOLF courses within 5/10 mins drive. Nearest is Mijas Golf, El Chaparaal, Calanova, Miraflores, Torrequebrada. There are more than 60 golf courses in Andalucia including the famous Valderamas and San Roque Golf Courses. most of these golf courses are open to non members. It is normally recommended that they are booked in advance in the busy season. Normally there are numerous day offers to include fees and buggy hire.

CYCLING Fuengirola and surrounding area have newly built cycle tracks. Also great tracks for mountain bikes. Bicycles can be hired in Mijas and Fuengirola and we can recommend a company that will take you on Mountain bike tours.


Skiing is only one and a half hours drive from the villa to Sierra Nevada, where normally there is snow from late November until early May. Daily Ski hire is available at ski resort,. we go there as much as possible over winter, and can help with recommendations.

Special interest holidays:

There are many special interest facilities on the Costa Del sol, including, cooking lessons, of various categories mountain biking, horse riding, walking tours, yoga etc, classic car runs, all of which we can give you more information should this be of interest to you.

Various places we recommend you to visit. The lakes of El Chorro the largest lake in Andalucia with turquoise blue water, are a must to visit, Gibraltar, and a day trip to Tangiers in Morocco, Malaga is a wonderful city and under rated, Ronda, Tarifa for the outdoor type who enjoy windsurfing/kiting – reckoned to be the best in Europe, miles and miles of white sandy beaches, horse riding is available on the beaches, Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, Jerez all worth a visit. We can give you more info should you decide to visit any of the above. closer to home are Marbella, and the home of the rich and famous Puerto Banus,

How to get there:

Malaga Airport is 20 mins drive, or Gibraltar is 50 mins drive. We will send you full directions on how to get to the villa, where we will meet you and welcome you into the villa.We also offer return airport transfers for €70.Should you wish to hire a car, we recommend a company called Transauto they will meet you at the airport and all the usual companies are available.. Some of the airlines that fly into Malaga include BA, Easy Jet, Ryan Air, Bmi Baby, Monarch, Air Berlin, Air Lingus and Jet 2.

Benalmadena is 15 mins drive,

Marbella and Puerto Banus are 20/25 minutes away.

Mijas Village:

Typical ‘white Andalucian village’ with its cobbled streets and winding roads, this is has the charm of real Spain. Many authentic Spanish restaurants with beamed ceilings and fireplaces ideal in winter or dine in their open courtyards and terraces in summer. Many local artesan shops selling hand made goods. The famous donkeys are there to tour you round the village. The views from Mijas are quite stunning – worth a visit or two!


This town stretches for many miles along the sea front with its easy walking new promenade (wheelchair friendly). Plenty of restaurants and cafes. shops and bars to suit all tastes.

The main square, Paza de Constitution is very pretty with its´s flowers and plants decorating the square, in the evenings, many of the locals are seen sitting around the square just chatting.

Fish Alley, as it is known locally is just down from the square which is full of restaurants well known for serving sea fish.

There are numerous shops suiting all tastes and budgets. For the young, or older and lively, there are many clubs, music bars, and discos.

Fuengirola has the most amazing zoo, well worth a visit, even for adults. Mijas Aqua Park only 5 minutes drive from the villa.

Street markets:

Fuengirola on Tuesdays and Saturday, La Cala on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Puerto Banus on Saturdays, Benalmadena, Fridays. Benalmadena – Aquariaum open all days. Tivoli World – Open every Day in Summer. Benalmadena Port – worth a stroll to see the yachts, many, many shops and bars, open all day and most of the night. Day cruises from here.

Supermarkets: Plenty of supermarkets, within a short walk of the villas, including the famous El Corte Ingles (sells everything) Mercadona – large Spanish supermarket – excellent and good value for fresh fish. Lidl, is close by, and there is also a small local shop and Pharmacy at the end of the road.

Banks – plenty.

Puerto Banus and Marbella: Open day and night, plenty of designer shops, top restaurants, and non stop entertainment, only 20 minutes drive.
